The plagues sent upon Egypt had come to their climax with the tenth one – the death of all Egypt’s firstborn, while the Israelites had been spared. Broken at last, Pharaoh told them to get out of his nation, which the Israelites quickly did. Human reasoning would have taken them the quickest route to Canaan, their Promised Land, along the coastal road—a journey of around 10 days. But contrary to all human reasoning, God led them south by the desert road towards the Red Sea. In this episode of Junctions on the Journey, we see how we all have a choice on our journey – to follow our own route, or to follow God’s path for us. Moses chose to follow God in the pillar of cloud and fire. What about us? Join us as we explore this passage of exodus and see God’s best for the journey and God’s provision for the journey.
