Alpha begins this Tuesday!
Which means you still have time to invite those around you, to come and ask their questions about Christianity!
This little video message from our Alpha leader Matt is now available on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. So be bold, share it! Send it in Whatts app, FB Messenger or play it in your office with the volume turned up that little bit louder than usual. Make use of this amazing tool that we have, called Alpha.
Of course you will need the sign up link to hand: www.hope.tvcchurch.org.uk/alpha but you can also sign people up through your MyChurchSuite app – with their permission of course!
We are excited about what God will do on our next Alpha course which begins Tuesday 15th June at 7.30pm.
Join us this Sunday as we approach our next ‘Junction on the Journey’- “Encountering bitter or making sweet?”; when we will take a look at Exodus chapter 15.
There are literally just a handful of tickets left this week – if you are quick you might just find your ticket here. If you discover all tickets have gone, try checking back over the weekend incase people have had to cancel. The easiest way to do this is through the MyChurchSuite app – if you don’t yet know what that is, email Sarah Glasby.
The Message Mission week
This week, we have the awesome privilege of welcoming some students from the Message Academy to join us on some of our TVC Church ministries.
Jacob, Emily, Ben and Salome, who are studying with The Message this year, are with us until Sunday. They will mostly be spending their time blessing the local community down at The Shack, Community Grocery and Shaftsbury Street as well as spending time with our youth groups at The Shack and The Oakwood Centre.
From clearing gardens to giving testimonies, it is amazing to have these 4 young people to come and join us in sharing the gospel across Stockton.
On Sunday, they will be helping to run the first of our Sunday services back at The Shack, for the local community in Ragworth. As much as we would all love to pop in and support this amazing work into Stockton, the Shack has a very small capacity and so the majority of us will meet at The Oakwood Centre that morning, which will leave room for those seeking Jesus in that community – but do continue to pray for all the work that takes place in Stockton.
Into the Prophetic…
Our long awaited prophetic training morning is happening next week (Sat 19th June).
This is a great opportunity to get some amazing training from our gifted team. Everyone is welcome, so whether you have no experience of hearing from God or you’d just love a refresher – sign up!
The training will be happening over zoom so we are not limited by restrictions and it remains very accessible. If, by some miracle, you have managed to avoid zoom after all this time – get in touch, we can help you to access it!
Claire says: “Hearing from God is meant to be a normal activity for God’s people, so that we can strengthen and encourage each other. This day will give you a solid Biblical foundation for moving in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and enable you to recognise God’s voice, using teaching, ministry and practical exercises in a fun and encouraging atmosphere.”
To book a place, please register here and we will be in touch with the zoom code.
Have you been joining us at The Oakwood Centre recently? Or maybe you have been worshipping with us online?
However you have been connecting in, we would love to get to know you and to help you discover more about what we believe at TVC Church, what it means to Belong and where we believe God is taking us as a Church family.
Our next Belong group begins on Wednesday 23rd June at 7.30. We would love you to come and join us. For more information and to sign up, click here.
Illuminate – not just for the kids!
How great was it to enjoy that little glimpse into our TVC Church Children’s work last week!? If you missed it, or would just like to give it another watch, have a little peek here.
Anna has prepared this little video to just like to give you a little more info about the values of our TVC Church childrens ministry.
If you could play a part in helping our children to meet Jesus, have a look here and find out about the big and little ways that you can get involved.
Community Grocery Update
Here is a little update on what has been happening across at our Grocery this week:
On one day we had 5 new members sign up – 4 of them used pay it forwards. That means that somebody had been down to the Grocery and had pre-paid for the shopping of somebody less fortunate than them. Anybody who is unable to pay for their shop can simply pick up a post it (which usually has a lovely little message written on it) and they can then hand that over in the place of money for their shop.
One of those using the ‘pay it forward’ said that her friend had told her about the Grocery, encouraging her “This is where you go if you want things to start changing for you”
How incredible is that?! Word is getting round that this is a place of safety and sanctuary.
Another lady came in with her son and her last £5 to do a shop. The team where able to tell her that because of the pay it forward system, we didn’t need to take her last £5.
Andy writes: “There is real sense of Gods purpose here both with our members and our volunteers, however, inevitably there are challenges and a pushback from the enemy going on too. Our supplies can still be sporadic, our pay it forward system has come under increasing strain as the need and people’s lack of ability to pay has become more apparent. Our volunteers are doing more and more physically, emotionally and spiritually.”
Why not pop down to the Community Grocery at the Shack this week? Tell the volunteers that you are praying for them and if you are able, maybe leave a little money to ‘pay it forward’?
Be part of our mission over in Ragworth!
School of Applied Theology
It is more important than ever to be rooted in the word of God and to be able to intelligently apply it to life today. School of Applied Theology may sound posh, but it is actually a really accessible way to study the Bible in amazing depth, giving you confidence in understanding the more difficult passages and in using the Bible in your everyday life.
You may have noticed the little Taking Ground logo in the corner of the pic here – that is because, though we host School of Applied Theology in our amazing building, it is a joint venture between all the Taking Ground Churches across the region. Therefore clicking here will take you to the Taking Ground webpage where you can sign up, rather than the TVC Church webpage.
It has been so good to meet together, to pursue discipleship, over our past two Practical Discipleship training sessions.
Our next one is now on the horizon, so pop Thursday 8th July in your diary!
Giving to TVC Church
Continuing to be generous with your money means that we can continue to be generous in all sorts of practical ways.
You can give your tithes and offerings by bank transfer, online or by text message.
Pastoral Care and Support
If you are unwell, have symptoms of Coronavirus or need contact, support, or prayer, then please let us know. Complete the online form and our pastoral team will be in touch within 24 to 48 hours.
