Isaiah 9:6,7 (NLT)

For a child is born to us,…

The government will rest on his shoulders

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

His government and its peace

    will never end.

The season of Advent heralds a time of preparation of hearts when we are thankful for God’s fulfilment of the promise of a Messiah and Good News for mankind. It is a beautiful reminder that Christ was sent to rule and restore people to God. Christ was born with the destiny of full control and this is a season to check whose government (rule) we are under. Jesus was not sent just to be a helper in our troubled times, but to be the Lord and King who holds the key to total control of our lives. We are not just impressed by the baby in the manger, but we herald Him as King and Lord of our whole life and destiny. The Good News of Jesus calls us to surrender our sinful, selfish lives to be traded for a life ruled by Jesus, full of peace, love, and power. Jesus made our lives simple by Him taking charge. Jesus did not show off, yet He owned it all and gave it all. The King Jesus calls and inspires us to be generous givers of His grace, gifts and goodness to those who are undeserving of it all. Sure, ’tis a season to be jolly’ generous with all that He has blessed us with.

Activity:

Enjoy the ministering from the Holy Spirit – open every room of your life and surrender to the lordship of Christ. Repent of the times when you occupied the seat of control.

He is Lord

Prophetic Focus:

Revelation 19:16 (NLT)

On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.

Christ is Lord over the pandemic and its onslaught.

Christ is Lord over the world nations and their decision making.

Christ is Lord over our personal domains (fill it up yourself…)

Christ is Lord over the church and its challenges.

Let this classic song remind you of the simplicity of the Good News.
Phillipians 2: 10-11
