Prayer – Wednesday 16th September

Wild Flowers

For this week it’s important you go into a quiet place, removing all distractions, all “to do” lists.

Once you’ve found your place of peace and quiet, pray this prayer with me:

“Oh Yahweh, Lord God Almighty, clear my mind as my thoughts run rampant in my head. Stress is getting the better of me.

Help me to keep focused on You, Lord, making You the center of my life. Everything else will fall into place because if I seek You first. All righteousness will surely be added unto me, Holy Spirit you are so welcome here.”

A wildflower is a flower that grows in the wild, meaning it was not intentionally seeded or planted. During lockdown we have seen a huge increase in wild flowers, Since the coronavirus pandemic hit the UK last month, the environmental journal has reported less spring verge cutting than usual, which is having big benefits to the environment on a number of levels.

Have a look at these photos!

This type of growth you didn’t foresee, you didn’t plan, it is happening because of the season/ circumstance we are in. But (unlike in the natural) there is someone behind it who intentionally and supernaturally is using this time to plant something beautiful and wild in you that could not be cultivated outside of these circumstances.

God did not create this Global Pandemic but He will in His sovereignty use it for our good.

Listen to this song and read the words, let it minister to you, write down anything that stands out to you.

Read over this verse and converse with the Holy Spirit and ask yourself the following questions. Follow the conversations all the way to the end with the Holy Spirit, asking why, how, are you believing a lie, what is the truth to replace that lie?

To bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor. Isaiah 61:3

1) Are you fighting this season or trusting that He is Sovereign?

2) What is He doing in you?

3) What is He growing in you?

As we draw to an end of the meditation we want to finish with focusing on the goodness of God in light of what He is doing in you!

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34

Good and upright is the Lord. Psalm 25:8

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:6

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Matthew 7:11

If you feel something significant has come up in your conversations with the Holy Spirit, share with someone close to you.

God is growing something WILD and unique in each of us, that will only take root and flourish in these difficult circumstances. Anchor down into Him this season and know He will use everything for His Glory!!!
