Newsline – Friday 26th March

Welcome to this week’s Newsline. Here’s what’s included:

Book in for Sunday 4th April!

It is with great pleasure (and a whole lot of excitement) that we invite you to book your seat to be in our live congregation on Sunday 4th April! Tickets go live from 6pm tonight!

We really can’t wait to be together again!

For the next few months at least, our services will look very much as they did in the Autumn. Refresh yourself on all the details of tickets, masks, temperature checks etc here – though a year into the pandemic, there won’t be any shocks!

Our Sunday’s page also contains a helpful list of FAQ’s which cover everything from can I sing? to how often can I attend? It is the first stop for all your questions.

You can get your ticket here – or if you now have access to MyChurchSuite, book your tickets and store them there, along with details to all our TVC Church events (for more information on this click here).

You also now have the ability to cancel your ticket through MyChurchSuite or through a link in your confirmation email. If your circumstances change and you are not able to attend – please do make use of this facility so that somebody else can be there.

The Easter Trail

Our Eagglescliffe Easter trail has begun!

As restrictions begin to relax a little this week, why not take the opportunity to meet up with another family and take a walk around our Easter trail?

Simply begin at Orchard shops in Eagglescliffe (leaving your car in the car park if you have driven over) and then use a map, or good old google, to visit each of the 8 decorated gardens of our lovely TVC Church families (listed in this image). You may even find a goodie bag at the end!

Take lots of photos and tag us in them on Facebook or Instagram!

This lovely trail is for everyone! So get inviting your local family and friends to enjoy a stroll and discover the reason for Easter on the way.

Our next Alpha course is less than 2 weeks away!

Alpha is a fantastic place for anybody to explore life, faith and meaning and to ask their questions in a safe environment.

Karen recently found Jesus through an Alpha course and it has transformed her life. I asked her, what would you say to a Christian who is thinking of asking a friend to join the Alpha course. This is what she had to say:

“I would say be bold! I had been curious about Alpha for years, at least 10! Even though I had Christian friends, no one thought to ask.”

We have a new, easy to find Alpa sign up page at www.hope.tvcchurch/alpha

Alpha Online – begins Wednesday 7th April

Could You Help?

There is nothing quite like being part of a team and working together to achieve something wonderful. Every Sunday, our fab team of volunteers make our Sunday services happen. From those up front to those behind cameras, every single one is needed so that the rest of us can sit back and be blessed.

We are looking to create a brand new team, which will work alongside the worship team, speakers, and tech team to steam our services from The Oakwood Centre. If you are able-bodied and would love to serve the Church, get in touch with Martin Kempson so see how you could be a blessing.

Give us a Wave!

Forward 12

For our Easter service, we are looking to do another waving video (just like the one we did for Christmas- and how gorgeous was that!) with as many people from our wonderful church family as possible wishing everyone a ‘Happy Easter’ as possible.

It’s super simple, all you need to do is:

  • Film in LANDSCAPE.
  • Get everyone involved who wants to be, within your household (the more the merrier!)
  • 10 seconds of waving and feel free to throw in some sort of “Happy Easter” greeting.
  • Send it to the following link by Monday 29th March:

Please note, by sending a video in, you are giving us permission to use it in online.

Thank you! We can’t wait to see your faces!

What is My Church Suite?

Many of you will have had an email invitation to use ‘MyChurchSuite’ this week, but what is it? and is it really needed? Our Operations Manager, Sarah Glasby, tells us all about it.

“ChurchSuite is a system that we have used for the past 6 years to help us as a church, with all sorts of organisational bits and bobs. Within it is the ability to share some of those helpful organisational tools with our wonderful congregation. This is what we call “MyChurchSuite” (yes I know, very creative name!)

MyChurchSuite is available through the internet, but there is also an app that many people find super helpful. It allows you to book in to all our Church events, keep tickets stored in the one place, keep track of your giving, you can see when you are next on a rota and see if any of your rota’s clash. It also acts as an up-to-date address book for our Church Family.

With current situations what they are, we have re-assessed where it has been used in the past by a few and have made it available to all you lovely TVC Church people. If you have not received an invite or have questions, please do contact me, I’d love to help you get started!”
